Is breakfast included? What do you serve for breakfast?

Our Buffet breakfast is included and available from 7:30 am until 11:00 am. It includes: Freshly baked croissants, home-made muffins, a good variety of hot and cold cereals, fruit juices, whole wheat bread, hard boiled eggs, baskets of fruit and yogurts. In addition, coffee, tea and hot chocolate are always out and available to guests in the lounge.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require a one night or 50% deposit (whichever is greater) unless it is a SuperSaver booking (non refundable full payment in advance, no changes allowed or credit given), at time of booking, which you can pay by Visa, Mastercard or American Express. We have a minimum $25.00+tax cancellation fee. However, to avoid forfeiture of your entire deposit, any changes or cancellation must be received a minimum of thirty [30] days prior to your arrival date. The balance of the payment is due upon checking-in. Early departures will not be refunded, unless we can re-rent the room to a full house.

Where are you located?

We are located 2 minutes walking to Town Centre in a quiet residential neighborhood at the corner of Muskrat and Caribou Street. The main Ski Bus pickup is only 40 meters away. The Banff Centre for the Arts, Education and Conferences is only a 7 minute walk from the Blue Mountain Lodge. Check our location page for map and more details.

Do you have in-room private bathrooms?

Yes, each room, even our smallest one, has  an ensuite bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. 

Do you have specials for long term stays?

Yes, we always offer a choice of special deals. Please check online the rates and discounts for the period you are planning to be in Banff. Please call or email for periods longer than 2 weeks.

We arrive later than regular check-in between 4 and 6 pm?

No worries, we will be happy to make arrangements. Please email or phone or include a note on our booking form for more information. Don’t hesitate to arrive earlier in the day.

What is the history of the house?

Our house was built by Mrs Taylor in 1908. It started as a boarding house / hotel and as such has always catered to guest. Our house is a historic landmark as one of the oldest hotels in Banff.

Which credit cards are accepted?

We accept cash, Visa, Mastercard and American Express 

Can we communicate in another language?

Yes, we will be happy to help you in English, French, German and Luxembourgish

Would you help us plan our journey in the 4 Parks around Banff?

This is one of our specialties as we love to give lots of information about where to go and what to do in this area of the world. Banff is the jewel of the Rockies and we will keep you busy exploring. Please tell us about your expectations of a great holiday and we will assist drawing your personal itinerary. 

Can we use the kitchen to cook meals?

Our guest kitchen/lounge is available daily for the preparation of light meals and snacks. You will find a stove top, microwave oven, fridge, pots and pans, silverware and dishes. For the convenience of other guests we don’t recommend cooking after 9pm. You are welcome to come and enjoy coffee and cookies in the afternoon. It’s fun to socialize with other guests from around the world. We also have a small library with pocket novels, a selection of books on Canada, and a few games.

Are your rooms air conditioned?

Here in the mountains temperature is rarely higher than 25 degrees and might even drop down to “chilly” during the night. Room #7 the Beaver Lodge is the only room which is air conditioned. 

Which ski hills are accessible from Banff?

The closest ski hills are Mt Norquay and Sunshine which are only 15 minutes away. Lake Louise is a 30 minute drive from Banff. Guests also drive to Nakiska in Kananaskis Country 45 minutes away and Kicking Horse as well.
